Blind Debossing
Debossing is a process where under high pressure a machine presses a thermal die (metal plate) into a defined surface of the material (most commonly leather) to create a depressed imprint. It is also referred to as “blind debossing” since there is no color and the process is a type of “branding” into the leather. This process makes a powerful statement of understated elegance. When personalizing a name, individual letters are set into a plate and pressed together to form a name. When purchasing items with logos, a special metal plate takes about 7-10 days to produce and is used in exactly the same fashion as the letters. The letters or images are reversed and, when pressed into the leather, offers a subtle image – this the name “blind.” In A Flash LLC uses blind debossing on leather iPad cases. Foil Stamping
Foil stamping is a decoration process where a foil tape is stamped with a thermal die (metal plate or metal letters), imprinting the image or name on the product. Gold and silver are standard but other colors are available. The image that is pressed into a defined surface of the material (most commonly leather) creates an image in silver or gold only with no screens. This foil is used to assure an image stands out. Some items are defined as items that can ONLY be foil stamped. In A Flash LLC suggests you specifically inquire or assure the information is in your notes if you want foil stamping since most items are defaulted for debossing. All set-up fees are included in our listed prices.
Direct Printing
Your artwork is printed directly onto the case using a CMYK color process over a white flash base. Using this method is the best way to get a full-color design and artwork can be very large. All set-up fees are included in our listed prices.
